VISN 2: Telehealth Provides Easier Access to Health Care

Telehealth provides Veterans access to health care that is timely, more convenient and easier to access through the use of new health care technology including video conferencing and health monitoring devices that can connect patients to their health care team.

Telehealth uses video conferencing which provides a patient a real-time interactive medical visit with their provider using a computer screen; store and forward which allows patient information and diagnostic images to be forwarded to another provider and home care which provides a Veteran with a chronic disease to be monitored at home using a variety of home health care technologies.
