With Out Compensation title

If you are planning to work on a VA research study and are not employed by VAWNYHS, you will need to obtain a Without Compensation Appointment. Individuals requiring WOC appointments may include, but are not limited to, fellows, residents, university employees, other non-VA employees working at the VA, visitors, students, volunteers, and visiting scientists who are not compensated by the VA for their employment.

All necessary WOC application forms can be downloaded from this website (see below). The WOC application also requires completion of mandatory training courses, for which documentation of completion must be provided. Some documents require information form the investigator recruiting the WOC appointee. All applicable documents must be completed before a meeting is scheduled with the research secretary for review and submission. All applicants must bring two forms of identification to the appointment.

During the meeting with the research secretary, the applicant will be provided instructions for the final steps of the application process, including contact with human resources and the PIV office for fingerprinting.
