The following types of incidents should be immediately reported to the VA Police:
  • Assaults
  • Disturbances (any type)
  • Homicide/Suicide
  • Thefts (personal or government)
  • Vandalism (personal or government)
  • Threats (verbal or written)
  • Motor Vehicle Accidents
  • Drug and Alcohol Offenses (possession, under the influence, etc.)
  • Visitor Policy Violations
  • Burglary
  • Sexual Assault (Rape)
  • Robbery
  • Weapons
  • Patient Abuse
  • Missing Patients

Conduct in violation of the rules and regulations set forth in paragraph (a) of Security and Law Enforcement at Department of Veterans Affairs Facilities subjects an offender to arrest and removal from the premises. Whoever shall be found guilty of violating these rules and regulations while on any property under the charge and control of VA is subject to a fine as set forth in the schedule (found in the link above) or the payment of a fixed sum in lieu of appearance (forfeiture of collateral) as may be provided for in rules of the United States District Court.
