Vocational Rehabilitation
Are you a veteran looking for a job? Having trouble getting a job? Need a better job? Do you want to change jobs or try a new career?
Vocational Rehabilitation offers services that can help you continue your education or get ready to find a job. Counselors will help you identify your strengths and skills, as well as overcome any limitations that may prevent you from returning to employment.
Services include:
- Assessments - How ready are you for a new job or a return to school
- Counseling
- Training
- Employment
- Education and vocational planning
- Referrals to other community programs/ organizations
- Career Planning Services
- Support Groups
Vocational Rehabilitation is for veterans preparing to enter the job market right away, adjusting to a recent disability or returning to school. Whatever path you take, Vocational Rehabilitation services will be customized to meet your needs.
To contact us:
- Contact the vocational rehabilitation office at the VA Medical Center nearest you. A counselor will ask you for some basic information and set up an appointment for your first assessment and informational session.
- Have your VA primary care physician or other health care provider refer you. They will send a consult (the necessary paperwork) to the vocational rehabilitation office. You will be contacted by telephone or letter to set up your first appointment.
