David J. West, FACHE Interim Network Director
We are supporting the 2013 National Veterans Golden Age Games in upstate New York. The Games give Veterans the opportunity to compete in recreational activities they enjoy, experience camaraderie with their fellow Veterans and stay active. Veterans will be in the greater Buffalo area May 30 through June 4, 2013 competing in events such as cycling, golf, swimming, table tennis and sled hockey.

Dr. Patrick Welch
Dr. Patrick Welch, Director for Center for Veterans & Veteran Family Services at Daemen College, and our Local Honorary Chairman for the 2013 National Veterans Golden Age Games, and his volunteer team have raised $16,858. Our goal is to raise $200,000 by May, 2013 to make this a fun and memorable event for Veterans, their families and the community. Please help us in spreading the word that donations are needed for the 2013 Games to your organization, area businesses and neighbors. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated. We are expecting over 800 Veterans and their families to travel to the Buffalo area to compete in 14 competitive games.

Monetary donations of $1,000 or more will have their individual, organization or business name listed in the official National Veterans Golden Age Games program, on the ceremonies promotional banner, complimentary tickets and VIP seating.

We are also in need of gifts in kind for the event including water bottles, towels, ice, cups, office supplies, tents, road cones and individually wrapped snack type items.

If you are interested in volunteering we need volunteers to assist with the Games, registration, meals, ceremonies and travel.

We are counting on you and other volunteers in upstate New York who always give generously to support Veterans.

Thank you.
David J. West, FACHE
Network Director
